Tennis Canada and the ITF are partnering to provide an ITF classification opportunity during the 2022 Birmingham Nationals in Montreal, November 3-6.
Please note that all players who wish to compete in the men’s, women’s, quad, or junior divisions of ITF tournaments are required to meet the ITF minimum eligibility requirement through the classification process. The two-step process includes the submission of the ITF Medical Registration Form and an in person assessment by ITF classifiers. There are a very limited number of classification opportunities worldwide therefore we are ensuring all Canadian players have easy access to the process during the Nationals in November. We may also provide another classification opportunity prior to or during an ITF tournament in 2023.
Please keep in mind that all players wishing to compete in ITF wheelchair tennis tournaments will at some point in 2023 be required to be classified and meet the minimum eligibility requirements. In 2024 this may also be the requirement for the Birmingham Nationals.
To be considered for the classification opportunity at the Nationals please complete the attached ITF Medical Registration Form and forward to Janet Petras at jpetras@tenniscanada.com by October 9.

Wheelchair Classification explained.
